Only 3 weekends left and we’re already sad that it’s so close to the season close. Paris Speedway has managed to come to life again in 2010 with addition to many new faces and committed riders and supporters. I can’t thank everyone enough especially to those that come out every week to help out. The volunteer positions always seem to be a thankless job, however I personally cannot thank any of them enough as I hope many of you do.
I do want to bring up a couple of things that are important. For one the Banquet is booked on October 23rd at the Hall at the Fairgrounds. It’s a Saturday evening, starts at 5pm with a dinner at 7pm. There will be an awards ceremony as well as many fun filled games and attractions there. I hope you all attend and everyone is invited! Tickets are $30 for an adult… Kids 15 and under are $15. Tickets will be available before and after the races at sign in and payout. The tickets will also be available through paypal… please email: hesmermotorsports@hotmail.com.
Last Sunday we seen the first speedway school and it was extremely successful. I have to mention the last bits of our sponsor Breyers Ice Cream got us through the heat on the Sunday afternoon. Looks like there’s a few new speedway riders to look forward to. The only unfortunate incident was when Tommy Hensby had a crash hitting the boards going into the corner. It left him with a broken thumb which will leave him out for the rest of the season. However up until that point he looked like a major contender and he served a few laps full throttle.
Last and not least please be aware that the race on the Labour day weekend hosts all classes. Prize money breakdown on the event will be updated shortly. Also look out for the updates to the regular purse as we’ve slightly increased it.
